August 1st to 10th this year saw our Partner, the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation’s, annual congress in Porto, Portugal.
The congress is the biggest and the most important annual event for pharmacy students, and this year hosted more than 750 participants from all over the world. The busy agenda included trainings, symposia, workshops and campaigning.
Fake medicines are everybody’s business, but they are a particular menace to healthcare providers, who work to ensure people are healthy and safe. Therefore, Fight the Fakes was very excited to be invited by IPSF to present the campaign, with a booth about fake medicines as well as a dedicated workshop.
At the Fight the Fakes booth, students could sign an online pledge to fight fake medicines in their home country (still online, and open to signatures here), learn about the toolkit designed as a crash-course on counterfeits for pharmacy students to use in educating their peers, and take a selfie with “good” and “bad” medicines to post on social media.
Are you a pharmacist or pharmacist-in-training that wants to get involved in the conversation?
Use the hashtag #PharmacistsAgainstFakes to tell us why you’re committed to combating fake medicines!
