Medicines Quality Database Terms

Concerns about the availability of substandard and counterfeit medicines prompted USAID and PQM to establish Medicines Quality Monitoring (MQM) programs in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean to mitigate the significant negative impact of their use on the public’s health. New Database Compiles Key Anti-Counterfeiting Systems

The Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicines (IRACM) has published a new online database, home to over 100 key technologies that can be used in the fight against counterfeit medicines. These systems include those used to authenticate, identify and trace products and use innovations such as holograms, code bubbles and data matrices.
