The Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicines (IRACM) has published a new online database, home to over 100 key technologies that can be used in the fight against counterfeit medicines. These systems include those used to authenticate, identify and trace products and use innovations such as holograms, code bubbles and data matrices. IRACM has also analysed the relevance of these anti-counterfeiting systems to the fight against fake medicines, providing quality/price ratios for stakeholders such as pharmacists, drug authorities and physicians.
