Fight the Fakes partner the International Council of Nurses (ICN) delivered a statement during this year’s World Health Assembly, May 2019, targeting the provisional agenda item 12.2. Member State mechanism on substandard and falsified medical products.

ICN displayed its commitment to address the problem of substandard and falsified medical products and positioned nurses as key actors in developing action plans to detect and respond to fake medicines. Furthermore they underlined the importance of awareness about falsified medicines and called for the Member State Mechanism to engage with the Fight the Fakes campaign, and to foster collaborative action with stakeholders against this global health threat.
