In his article “Drug Supply Chain Security Act” Shabbir discussed how the US drug supply chain is not immune to falsified medicines and what can be done to tackle the issue.
The article includes enlightening examples of how these dangerous products are damaging to public health. Furthermore, Shabbir explains that implementing the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) has been a long process that required substantial upfront investments from companies across the US pharmaceutical supply chain. The author concludes that US the DSCSA data and serialization can be seen as successful given it has taken thousands of falsified bottles of medicines out of the US drug supply chain.
