Fight the Fakes congratulates Ashifi Gogo, Founder of Partner Sproxil, in being awarded Schwab Foundation’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Fake medicines present a real threat to patients and to public health as a whole. Empowering patients with the ability to distinguish life-saving medicines from live-threating counterfeits is one example of mHealth solutions to global health challenges.

Sproxil’s Mobile Product Authentication (MPA™), allows patient to verify whether their medicines are genuine or counterfeit with a simple text message, free of charge.

Read Gogo’s World Economic Forum blog post to learn more about the problem of fake medicines in low and middle income countries, and what organisations like Sproxil are doing to help.
