On 23 and 24 June 2015, the 1st Indo-French workshop on combating fake medicines was held at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in New Delhi.

Jointly organized by our partner the Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicines (IRACM) and the internal security services of the Embassy of France in India, this operationally-oriented seminar was inaugurated by the Ambassador of France in India, François Richier, the Director of CBI, Anil Sinha, and the head of the Central Security Office of Indian Medicine, G.N. Singh.

Over 70 attendees, including 60 police officers (CBI, representatives of Indian federal states), customs officers and members of the Ministry of Health participated in this event.

During these two days, comparative approaches to legislative, national, regional and international issues, techniques of judicial and customs investigations, new challenges (internet, confiscating financial assets) and the necessary synergy of services have been addressed respectively.

New trainings on actions against fake medicines are expected in the coming months.
