On June 20, 2016, IRACM together with the French anti-piracy committee (CNAC) organized a conference-debate on drug counterfeiting at the Luxembourg palace. The event brought together a hundred people coming from both the private and the public sector as well as from NGOs. Experts from international organizations (WCO, Interpol, Council of Europe, Chirac Foundation, IRACM) and national organizations (French National Pharmacists Council, Central office against attacks towards the environment and public, customs, French Pharmaceutical Companies Association, the ambassador at large on transnational criminal threats) spoke. The discussions established an assessment of drug counterfeiting as of today and listed legal, administrative or financial obstacles that impede preventive or enforcement actions.
