Fight the Fakes partner, the World Medical Association (WMA) will gather in Chicago from October 11-14 for its Annual General Assembly. The event will include committee meetings and debates with a keynote speech of Dr. Antoni Fauci, an American immunologist and head of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The Assembly will also appoint by Dr. Yoshitake Yokokura, President of the Japan Medical Association, as WMA’s President for 2017/2018.

The WMA represents physicians of all specialties and sectors all over the world. It aims at ensuring both the independence of physicians and the highest possible standards in medical care, ethics, education and health-related human rights. With 111 National Medical Associations, the WMA constitutes a forum for its members to communicate, to co-operate, to achieve consensus on high standards of medical ethics and professional competence, and to promote the professional freedom of physicians worldwide.
