Counterfeit drugs in America: crimes, victims and solutions

Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM) |

Booklet on the danger of falsified medicines

Some people, especially in the US and the EU, associate falsified medicines only with low and middle-income countries, thinking that there are very few chances that they could face this danger. However, it is a common mistake. Every US State has had a counterfeit drug incident since 2000, as highlights the Booklet on the dangers of falsified medicines, released by our partner Partnership for Safe Medicines. Giving many examples of the harm that fake medicines have produced in the US for past years, the booklet explains how they reach the market and gives useful tips for patients and pharmacists on how to avoid  fake medicines.
